Seems totally legit!
Is it weird I would rather have a 205 GTi than a Porsche though...?

no, as long as the 205GTi is the 1.9L model

There was a 1.6L model as well, wasn’t there? Is that one less reliable or just a lot slower or?

yes a 1.6L was made, to the best of my knowledge they were merely slower.

I’m fine with slower, as I imagine it will still be fun!

Same engine basically, so similar reliability. The 1.6 was more rev happy and eager, the 1.9 had more torque and power. There is something to be said for both. Both are (among) the best of the 80s.
The car in the picture is an early 106 though.

I would love a 106 Rallye as well! :P

106 Rallyes are great cars as well. Appreciating significantly nowadays, and rightfully so. There's nothing like it nowadays.

Nope! I love the idea of a sporty, no nonsense hatchback...
